One quick way to determine appropriate reporters is by looking up recent media coverage of your competitors.  Once you've compiled a list of several relevant reporters, drill down and look at the last three to five articles they've covered and ensure that they've recently covered your space. This can include national, local and trade media, depending on the reach of your products or services.
